Hello and welcome.

Morgan Shingle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Austin, Texas, has been practicing since 2018. Although her clinical work began with the attainment of an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters in Clinical Social Work, Morgan has been exploring the world of therapy since she began seeing her own therapists at age five. Her clinical experiences spans from being a Primary Therapist for young adult men recovering from Substance Use Disorders at a PHP/IOP to a Staff Counselor at Therapy Austin and an Emergency Room Social Worker at Dell Seton. Her holistic therapeutic approach is influenced by her background as a yoga teacher and Chief Product Officer of a Yoga company. This has allowed her to incorporate mindfulness, self-compassion, the mind-body connection, and principles rooted in Buddhism and supported by modern neurobiology into her practice.

Morgan's therapy style combines relational and psychoanalytic techniques with interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), adapting her methods to meet each client's unique needs. She draws from a variety of theories, including feminist and eco-psychology, systems theory, and depth psychology. For Couples, Morgan pulls from EFT and Gottman Methodology having completed Level 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Inspired by Pema Chödrön's "starting where we are," Morgan emphasizes the importance of the present moment and the transformative power of the client-therapist relationship, which she believes should be based on authenticity, transparency, and sometimes humor. She believes in the power of connecting with clients, ensuring they feel understood and supported.

Aligning with the values of Social Work, Morgan is an advocate for social justice, diversity, and inclusivity. She actively supports the LGBTQIA+ community and addresses the psychological effects of systemic oppression, placing individual experiences within a broader societal framework. It is her goal to help clients contextualize the individual experience within the collective experience.

Morgan specializes in complex-PTSD, anxiety and OCD tendencies, relationship issues, family dynamics, body image concerns, substance use issues, and grief/loss, with a particular interest in supporting young adults through transitional life phases.

Outside her professional endeavors, Morgan enjoys watercolor painting, reading, hiking, and pretending that her cat loves her as much as she loves her cat.
